Osilnica – Bezgarska planina

From the starting point, which is in the center of Osilnica, we continue on the road that leads towards Petrinja along the Kolpa River. When we reach the end of Osilnica, we continue past a few houses that still belong to Osilnica. At the house with the house number Osilnica 1, we cross a small stream over a bridge, then immediately after the bridge, we turn left onto a marked footpath. Here, we will quickly notice the first markings. We continue along the wide path, which gently ascends through the forest. At some junctions, we follow the markings. As we climb higher, the forest ends, and the path leads us to the settlement of Križmani, where we walk between a few houses. Behind the houses, we cross the asphalt road and then climb directly upwards through a small orchard. A little further, when the meadow becomes more overgrown, we turn right and enter the forest. We follow the forest path for a few minutes, then cross a partially overgrown meadow to reach the main road Osilnica – Kočevska Reka, which we cross. We continue past a wood storage, then through a short stretch of forest, we reach the local road leading to the village of Bezgovica. When you arrive in the village, at a small intersection, you turn slightly right, then follow the markings with beautiful views of Sveta Gora and Gorski Kotar. When you reach the upper part of the village, follow the markings between the houses. Behind the last house, you will notice hiking direction signs that guide you up the hill and the path leading into the forest. Here begins the steeper ascent. After a short climb, the path from the 18th serpentine of the road to Strma Reber joins on the right. We continue straight along the steeper path, which leads us higher through a steep valley. After we get higher, the markings from the rugged valley lead us left onto a path along a sometimes cliffy ridge. The ascent continues along a sometimes overgrown path, which occasionally slightly shifts to the right but also offers some views of the surrounding hills. After a few minutes, we reach a wide cart track, where we turn left. We follow this cart track until it splits into two. We continue along the slightly left path (the right path leads past Bezgarska Planina towards the Strma Reber pass). This path quickly brings us out of the forest to the lower part of Bezgarska Planina. When you reach the planina, walk across the meadow to a larger hunting lookout in just a few minutes.
