The Last Vogel

The Last Vogel Mountain rises to an altitude of 1413 metres. It is famous for the fact that during the summer months, local farmers bring their cattle, which graze in the area of the First and Last Vogel, to the top. During the summer months, you can taste fresh milk, cottage cheese and traditionally produced cheese thanks to the presence of fresh milk-producing livestock, and you can also try homemade corn cakes, whey, cottage cheese, shepherd’s pie and homemade brandy in the cheese factory on the Last Vogel. The cheese shop at Zadnjem Vogel also accommodates groups of up to 16 people in dormitory beds.

A well-marked trail leads to the top of the mountain, and part of the trail is also used as a ski slope in winter. The route to the Last Vogel from Ukanec via Žagarjev graben takes about 2 hours and 30 minutes. Alternatively, you can take a shorter route to the Vogel ski resort by cable car and then continue on foot to the Last Vogel mountain. The shorter route on foot will take you 30 minutes.
